Thanks to all

We would like to thank everyone that let us visit while we were at all the different places the past 9.5 weeks.

An extra special thanks to those family and friends who opened their homes up to us and let us spend a night or two or three or more.

We had a great time and enjoyed all of the great company and hospitality.  We hope that our blog viewers will enjoy the “break” from our Russia posts and be assured that the posts from Russia will continue starting again December 1st

From September 25th – November 30th we took a lot of pictures and it
took a while to weed through the ones that are on the blog. Thank you
for patiently waiting!!!  So have fun looking at all of our pictures and
brief travel logs.

November 30th Ohio and flight to Russia

Nov 30 Ohio and flight to Russia

We left pretty early in the morning so we woke Steve and Joe up to say goodbyes.  No picture from Steve, but Joe gave me one…..what a guy!!

Five guys hamburger place, one of our favorite places to eat, so we did for the last time in awhile…..at the Washington DC airport.

Stacee gave me this cute ladybug before we left in November.  I told her that I would take pictures of it while we were traveling to Russia.

November 28 Fly to Ohio

November 28th
We flew back to Ohio to prepare for our trip to Russia.

We spent the night with Lewis’ aunt Becky in Salt Lake and her son in law took us to the airport the next morning in Provo.  There was a really pretty moon that I kept trying to capture but not real successfully.

At the airport I had gone into the bathroom after we checked everything in and was surprised to see all of the things that they provided for people.  Although I would not use that mouthwash, not sure how many people have partaken. Still a nice touch.  Another little airplane until we get to Denver.

In the Denver airport we ate at a restaurant called “Leftys” maybe left handed people are catered to here.

We got to Dayton without any problems, not even with the weather and even on time.  We were thankful for that.  Two of my sons had stopped by my parents’ house for a visit and stayed for a few extra days to see us too.  It was nice seeing them again and glad that Lewis could meet them.

November 25 - 27 Finishing up in Oak City Utah

Nov 25-27 finishing up in Oak city

While leaving on the evening of the 27th to go to Aunt Becky’s house for the night, we saw this beautiful moon while driving through Nephi.  It was so light outside it didn’t feel like the moon should be up yet.  It was amazing!!!

The next day we had to go for a doctor visit and some tests at the hospital, interesting candy dish wouldn’t you say?

Had dinner at our favorite place in Delta, but not so sure of the “chicken toes” on the menu!!

We spent the night with Aunt Becky on Sunday and had a fun visit with her, then the next morning had to make a visit with the funeral home for some paperwork before going to Oak City.  I saw this on the wall and since it is kind of hard to read I will write it down.

On Sunday morning we went to church with the Bird family, Lewis wanted to sit in the back where all the fun was happening.  When we were heading back to Utah later that day we had some interesting weather ahead of us.

November 21-24 Thanksgiving with the Birds

Nov 21-24 Thanksgiving with the Birds
Since the weather was good we headed out to Wyoming for Thanksgiving with Aimee and Josh and their family. Lewis and I had a great time with them, unfortunately Lewis came down with a bad cold/cough/flu or something and so he didn’t feel as well as normal for the visit.

On the drive there we went a little out of the way and passed through a few towns that Lewis grew up in.  I liked what this billboard sign said so took a picture of it.

Thanksgiving dinner was great.  Aimee did a great job in preparing it for everyone; she made the place settings, so talented.  The grandkids made their own placemats with their handprints looking like the turkey body.  Very clever.  Since most everyone loves deviled eggs we divided them up into section and put little name flags on them so that no one got gypped out of their fair share.  Ha Ha!!!
