May 10 and 11, 2012 Meals on the airplane

May 10 and 11, 2012
This is the first time I have ever flown Business Class so it was a whole new experience in many ways.  First the food, I am used to no food of course, and only drinks being served.  What an experience to have food brought to you like a restaurant.  Below are the courses we had for dinner and also breakfast before landing.  Our entire flight to Warsaw was close to 9 hrs, so we ate dinner within the first hour and had breakfast the last hour and sleep (hopefully) in between.

First they bring you hot washcloths to clean your hands before each meal.  Of course before breakfast that hot washcloth also feels really good to wipe on your face to wake up.

crackers, cheese and fruit before dinner

The First Course was Vegetarian pate and smoked trout with creamy horseradish sauce, seasonal salad with dressing and bread and butter.
The Main Course was Cherry snapper with herb butter, served with potato puree, sweet peas and carrots.
Dessert is Fresh fruit salad.

Breakfast is scrambled eggs with sausage, fresh fruit salad and yogurt with croissant roll and butter.  We were also offered jam but I didn't want any, Lewis had orange marmalade.  I just loved those little salt and pepper shakers they brought to us and also the white tablecloths for the trays.
On the menu it says "A selection of sweet and savoury snacks is available from the galley throughout the flight", I don't think anyone was even awake to know what those were.

This particular flight had 3 rows of 6 seat in business class.  The rows were divided up by two seats.  For example 2 on the left and an aisle then 2 in the middle and an aisle then 2 on the right.  We were on the 2 on the right, no picture sorry.  The section was full.
On the flight from Warsaw to Moscow there was a total of 6 rows of 4 seats in Business class, 2 seats on each side separated by and aisle.  We were the only ones seated in business class.  We were not expecting a meal since it was only a little under 2 hour flight.  But we got lunch anyway as you will see.

We got the same cool white tablecloth, but no salt and pepper shakers on this flight.  The meal was a "cold snack" of pineapple carpaccio with Tandori chicken and green asparagus with sweet pepper and black olives. (on the left) and the "hot snack" of beef, stewed with prunes, served with Orzo pasta and sweet pepper.  Also a cute little loaf of bread the size of a roll.  I decided to have water and a coke this time to wake me up a little.  Soon after the meal I was sound asleep, oh well, nice try.

For dessert they offered something called Honey Cake.  We were not sure what to expect but tried it anyway.  It was so good.  Below are pictures of it when we took a bite so that you can see it close up.  It was a light type of cake with kind of like a pudding or whip cream.  Not sure, but so good.
