June 13, 2012 Return trip on the train and restaurant food

As we were coming into Velikiye Luki we saw these hot air balloons outside.  Appartently this is one of the big things that happen in this town yearly.  It was pretty fun to watch and we were hoping we could see more in town.

Konstantin was there to pick us up and wondered what this big thing was that we were carrying.  We had to put it through the windows in the back seat which was a challenge because the windows only roll down half way.

Radish Salad and Seafood Pasta (with mussels and octopus)

This is something that is pretty popular to eat.  Lewis and I do not like it, but someone else ordered it so I took a picture.  It is bacon fat, uncooked.  They eat it alone or on bread.
