July 26 2012 More pics from the trip

These pictures may be common in Russia, but not so common in the states.  I take pictures that are unusual to us so that we can share them with our blog followers to see what we see.

Elevators are not very common in buildings, at least where we live.  Good to have them in the hotels though, the unusual thing is that the are not very wide.  They do not hold many people especially with luggage which most hotel stayers have with them.  One of the trips up the elevator 2 men came into the elevator with their luggage and we were all four very packed in.  One of these men almost touched the ceiling, we are thinking he was 6' 10".......very tall!!!

One of the elevators shows 8 floors (picture above)......can you see what is different
in this picture of the other elevator......... (besides the fact that it looks like I am knocking Lewis over to get a picture....ha ha!!)

Have you ever seen a "-1" floor in an elevator?

Click on this picture to make it bigger and read some of the items..........different wording than we are used to!!!

Guess where the busiest place at the mall in Moscow was????

  1. They number by odds and evens. I guess -1 means your in the basement? The golden arches are everywhere it seems. We can't figure the skype thing out to call you guys.

  2. How fun -- gotta tell ya the elevator experience we had were small the most 4 and it never failed that one of those items would ended-up on my toe(the one that keep keeping broken) grr! One elevator we took nearly everyday it's numbers started with 0 2 3 4 ( what happened to the number one) we always wondered.. so what was -1 used for (laundry/service room?) wink!
